Gibraltar Airport Terminal

This ambitious new project included the need for ground improvement works to the surrounding hard standing areas, deep foundation piles to support the new buildings and infrastructures, and diaphragm wall constructions for the below-ground holding tanks.

Rock Foundations (Gibraltar) came up with a ground engineering solution for each of the projects and were therefore able to successfully tender for all of these works. The main terminal is supported on 800 number 600mm diameter CFA piles installed with the 7006 rig supplied and operated by Rock Foundations (UK).

The project required a host of different pieces of plant and apparatus and required constant first quality supervision on site. Over a two year period including numerous visits and mobilisations the ground engineering works were completed within the programme and on budget.
