Static Test, Reaction Frame Test

Due to the very difficult and varied ground conditions across the site for the Park and Ride scheme, the design required the completion of a number of working and non working test piles.

As access was not restricted both the Static and Reaction frame form of testing were utilised on this project.

The static test included a frame and 105t of kentaledge weights which was applied axially through the test pile allowing the settlement behaviours of the pile to be assessed as the load was gradually applied, removed and reapplied. The data received confirmed the pile was indeed performing with the design criteria.
