Park Manor Retaining Wall
As the result of some extreme rainfall in southern Spain this exclusive villa in the Estepona area had suffered some structural failure to the retaining wall. As this retaining feature was some 4m above the neighbouring property an underpinning solution was required to stabilise the wall and prevent any further movement.Due to the restricted access and the potential impact from drilling, the ground engineers from Rock Foundations (SL) designed an augured solution allowing them to construct a 10m deep 300mm diameter pile with a full length reinforcement cage.
Having successfully installed all of the piles the engineers designed a pinning solution, this included drilling through the wall and fixing a steel bar which would be incorporated with the capping beam along with the piles. With the beam cast the wall would affectively be held in place by the piles and pinned back with steel anchors. The team mobilised both the Klemm 701 and ther Kitten rig to ensure delivery of a successful solution.
