As part of the VEFA upgrades, RF Gib Ltd provided the micro piling for the new structure.
36 no 240nm diameter piles were required, installed to a depth of 15m including a minimum 4m rock socket for a maximum SWL of 400LN.
The piles required temporary casing through the upper layers which consisted of uncontrolled fill material.
A combination of 60/70mm and 80/90mm full length drill bar reinforcement were installed depending on the load requirements. To achieve a very demanding programme, two rigs were mobilised, a Klemm 806 and a Klemm 805.
To complete the works, a full static (reaction) test was performed on a non working pile to 1.5 x 5WL. The works were completed on programme and on budget within a two week period.
