Rock Foundations - Arengos Palace

Arengos Palace

Having constructed a new multi storey car park in the Aregos Palace area of Gibraltar the client required a method of stabilising the loose ground which made up the slope at the rear of the new car park.

With the building works already completed, access was restricted to plant which could negotiate the car park and access the slope via a vent area at the rear of the structure.

Rock Foundations (Gibraltar) were able to position a mini excavated fitted with a small but powerful rotary percussion drill. Using this plant the engineers were able to access all areas of the slope required to install 30 soil nails as per the engineers' specifications.

Following the successful installation of the soil nails Rock Foundations (Gibraltar) then provided a sprayed concrete solution to protect the slope. Final landscaping including the installation of drainage and a new fence to complete the stabilisation work.
