Working in partnership with JBS, Rock Foundations (Gibraltar) were required to provide a foundation solution for construction of a new mezzanine floor within the confines of the existing building at St Joseph’s School, Gibraltar.
Access to the school’s site was extremely problematic requiring restricted access plant and machinery to be employed to complete the project. Due to the disruption caused to the environment it was imperative that the work was completed within the school holiday period therefore the piling works would need to be completed in the first week in order to remain on schedule.
Through the use of a combination of DTH and augers the Rock Foundations engineers were able to provide the required piled foundations with 200mm diameter piles up to 5m deep and including a 2m rock socket conducted with use of a Twin Tech Techno Drill. All works were completed with a minimum amount of disturbance, completing the works on time and within budget.
